My name is Sharone. I am an experienced, TEFL certified, English teacher. I have been teaching English as a second language for almost 9 years. I have had the opportunity in teaching English abroad in China and Russia. I teach children from age 3 and up. I have experience in also teaching adults. I like to have fun in my classes, as this keeps the younger kids engaged and interested in learning the English language. My go-to is Oxford Cambridge books. I focus on phonics, vocabulary, sentences, numbers, colours, reading, comprehension, free speaking and grammar. When the students practice free speaking, they are able to learn where their mistakes lie, and what they can improve on. Phonics is a very important part of the English language, as this helps with pronunciation, understanding and reading. The subject that I enjoy teaching most, is English. I, however, have experience in teaching maths, art and science. My focus is foundation phase, as I feel that this is the most crucial part of a childs learning. This is when they absorb the most. A child’s mind is like a sponge. Children learn a lot more at a younger age, and are able to remember a lot more than we can. Teaching is my hobby, passion and love.
