My name is Heather and I’m a certified tutor; accredited in the UK. I attended the University of Central Lancashire located in the north-west of England. I specialise in teaching English as a second or foreign language and have been teaching children in classrooms and online for almost 10 years. I have experience teaching children as a classroom teacher when I worked in a school in Turkey for 3 years in a variety of age groups. My main speciality is working with children to progress their language skills through conversation, story, song, and visual aids. I have also taken courses on phonics and really enjoy helping children learn to read or improve their reading skills. I am a kind and patient tutor; speaking more than one language myself, I know the time and dedication it takes to learn a new language; and I try to encourage my students to work hard and have the confidence to make continued improvement.
